Ostara Natural Egg Dying

Instructions

Combine in a saucepan:

4-5 cups water,
3 Tablespoons vinegar, and
1 Tablespoon salt

Add your color/dye ingredients and bring to a boil, and then simmer for 30 minutes.

Cool, then strain water into a bowl or jar.

Add the eggs and let soak for 30 minutes and remove. If you want a darker color, let the eggs dry completely then soak again for 30 minutes. Repeat this as many times as you want.

Notes:

  • use brown and/or white eggs to vary the color density
  • the vinegar helps set the color
  • the salt & vinegar help the eggs peel easier
  • rub a few drops of olive oil on your completed eggs to give them a nice shine
